Euro-zone’s final Markit manufacturing PMI came at 54.9 in December its highest in five years.
In Germany, manufacturing activity was surprisingly revised upwards to a level of 55.6 in December, expanding at its fastest pace in three years.
Meanwhile, in China a new survey reveals continued expansion in December. The private Caixin purchasing managers’ index (PMI), released today, came in at 51.9 in December, up from 50.9 the previous month, and represents the fastest rate of expansion in almost four years.
The official PMI, released by the Chinese government on Sunday, came at 51.4 in December, down from 51.7 in November.
